Hi. I was using the Varidesk windows application to keep track of my sitting and standing, but thought it could be improved.
I've been developing a windows desktop application that will notify the user when to stand and when to sit. It keeps track of total time standing/sitting per day. It also uses common calculations to determine the number of calories burned during the day.
It is in the early stages, version 1.0.1 actually. I'm looking to incorporate reports and graphs in the future based on statistics being collected.
I have one feature that I'm on the fence about and wanted to get some feedback from real-world standing desk users.
It's called the "How do I feel" feature. It gives a ranking from 5 to 1, good to bad. I haven't named them yet, but it will probably be something similar to: Great, Good, Ok, Sore, Bad or something like that. My initial design thought was that a person could graph over time how they felt about standing. Was it rough in the beginning, but got better over time? Were there times during the day the were harder than others?
When I thought about implementing it, I wasn't sure how often to ask the user how they felt. Do I ask after every standing session? Do I ask at the beginning and the end of the day? Is it really even useful to implement this feature, because won't it plateau out after the user has been standing for a period of time?
So, I'm seeing if I can get some feedback. Would you use "How do I feel" if you had the software? If so, how often would you want presented with the option? What information would you like to see over time?
Thanks!
John
